John McCain Selects Hillary Clinton as his Vice Presidential running mate

Could that really happen sure it could we see that Hillary and McCain are good friends. and then if they got together we would see America definitely be united. Clinton got the popular vote, McCain got the republicans vote, the highly respect each other, this ticket would ensure victory of presidency. Both also have at times been at odds with their own parties.
Reported by the WASHINGTON, July 28 Two summers ago, on a Congressional trip to Estonia, Senator Hillary Clinton astonished her traveling companions by suggesting that the group do what one does in the Baltics: hold a vodka-drinking contest. Delighted, the leader of the delegation, Senator John McCain, quickly agreed. The after-dinner drinks went so well — memories are a bit hazy on who drank how much — that Mr. McCain, an Arizona Republican, later told people how unexpectedly engaging he found Mrs. Clinton to be. “One of the guys” was the way he described Mrs. Clinton, a New York Democrat, to some Republican colleagues. Mrs. Clinton and Mr. McCain went on to develop an amiable if professionally calculated relationship. They took more official trips together, including to Iraq. They worked together on the Senate Armed Services Committee and on the issue of globle warming. They made a joint appearance last year on “Meet the Press,” interacting so congenially that the moderator, Tim Russert, joked about their forming a “fusion ticket.”
Later, McCain remarked to friends "she was one of the guys," a high compliment among guys.
Quotes from Hillary
Later Hillary She's promised "to do all that I can" to help ensure Obama's election, which sounds good but is practically hard to define. There will be some grand unity event soon. And at the Denver convention. But She gets along very well with Republicans. She would have been the obvious choice for Bipartisanship and has shown it in the senate on a consistent basis. Making friends of your enemies is actually a quality Clinton has shown repeatedly.
I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience he will bring to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he made in 2002.”

“I think that since we now know Sen. McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, national security will be front and center in this election. We all know that. And I think it’s imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold,” the New York senator told reporters crowded into an infant’s bedroom-sized hotel conference room in Washington.
“I believe that I’ve done that. Certainly, Sen. McCain has done that and you’ll have to ask Sen. Obama with respect to his candidacy,” she said.
Calling McCain, a good friend and a “distinguished man with a great history of service to our country,” Clinton said, “Both of us will be on that stage having crossed that threshold.”

Clinton and McCain have developed an amiable relationship. They worked together, both on the Senate Armed Services Committee and on the issue of global warming. with McCain and Clinton at the top of the polls for their parties' nominations, they are increasingly doing things that underscore their differences. What makes their rapport different, is that Mrs. Clinton and Mr. McCain are essentially of equal stature. A friendly relationship, or just the appearance of one, brings risks and advantages to both, Mr. McCain who is also weakest among conservative Republicans, who dislike his willingness to take independent stands and work with Democrats. Mrs. Clinton, by contrast, has been working to convince moderate voters that she is a centrist who can work across the aisle, a claim bolstered by Mr. McCain’s approval of her. Both senators are accustomed to being sought out by other politicians hoping to burnish their own images.

So the surprise for Republicans and Democrats is the Clintons go to Denver say nice things about Obama and then the next day after Obama's speech, McCain announces he will only run for one term as President, with that said he announces his VP pick Hillary Clinton. So you ask Why? Such a daring move on McCain’s part would also signal that the country might enjoy a timeout from partisan rancor. The benefit for Republicans might be substantial. The party could rightly claim to have the bigger tent and the stronger commitment to serious reform. And for movement conservatives, the next four years could be a time for much-needed rebuilding. McCain would still have to reassure Republicans that he would be reliable on judges and other issues vital to conservatives. But a unity ticket would provide the greatest assurance of them all: Barack Obama wouldn’t be the one picking judges. Why for Hillary ? If Hillary wants to make history, then she would jump to the Republican Party and take her supporters with her.Hillary was raised a Republican so it is not completely crazy. For Hillary, there might still be a chance that McCain will tire out from some illness. She'd slide into his executive chair and still become the President... if McCain sticks with his promise not to Run in 2012 Hillary could Run as an incumbent or as a Independent for President.
Don't ever say never …… Power makes people do wired things.

It really might not be such a bad idea! A little bit of both parties might be what we need right now to get up going again

I'm at the point that ANYONE would be fine; just so as to get this circus over with!!! It shouldn't take 2 yeears to elect a President!! More so as most of the candidates should be working in their other, mostly Congressional, posts!!! Joe B.
